Our free music events start in the morning and include two day-time programmes of stellar performances by world-class artists and local jazz stars. In the Lau Bak Livehouse you can join our Weekend Brunch sessions and learn more about the art of jazz through conversations with musicians and live demonstrations, join a Poetry Music Jam by the House of Hong Kong Literature, or enjoy a series of live afternoon music performances.
Also indoors at Freespace, you can join meet-the-artist sessions where jazz musicians and practitioners share insights on music-making and women’s role in jazz. And for professionals, there are closed-door jazz workshops and jam sessions with international artists. Details of workshops will be announced soon.
Free Events: Screening / Dance / Market
On Saturday, in partnership with MOViE MOViE, we present a screening of the multiple award-winning music feature documentary 20 Feet from Stardom in The Room.
On Sunday, on the harbourfront promenade and other locations around the Art Park, Hong Kong Ballet presents a jazz-infused performance of The Great Gatsby and a series of site-specific dance works.
You can also browse our handicrafts market with 40 stalls of local crafts and artworks on the Great Lawn on both days.
